ABCO Tyres by nature is built around the benefits it brings to our environment. By working within the realms of BS159 we intend to increase the number of tyres being reused on our roads to prevent their premature next of life cycle. 

The heart of our business is therefore its concern for the environment. We are proud of what we are currently doing and intend to go steps further in reducing the impact our operation has on the environment.

Our environmental sustainability action plan

We are a relatively small business within a large industry but hold a very important role when considering our current environmental pressures. Having said this we are a growing force and are well respected within the industry for what we are doing.

We will:

• continue to promote the environmental benefits our products have, within the safety standards required;
• continue to educate our staff in regard to our energy consumption and material wastage;
• comply with environmental legislation and requirements;
• adhere to environmental licences;
• recycle wherever possible;
• recycle any heat wastage;
• not prioritise profits over responsibilities to lower or improve our effect on the environment;
• promote and encourage sustainability within our network of suppliers and customers.
• be open minded and proactive in the way we change and adapt to any future changes.
• be aware of our neighbours and respect any impact our business has, and make changes or adapt.
• respond to new legislation;
• respond to suppliers’ needs as long as they meet environmental responsibilities.

In order to promote the above these are the steps we are taking:

• Relocation to a new modern building that will be fully insulated. To be completed 2022;
• Reuse the heat from our compressors to heat our factory.
• Create a Environmental Management System, Ongoing;
• Reinforce our commitment by communicating the environmental management system and company ethos through the staff levels, Ongoing;
• Reinforce our commitment to safe repairing through management, and training initiatives.
